Reds '18 Rain Dancing

The Cincinnati Reds have long been innovators, pioneers, trailblazers in the world of sport generally and in the American Pastime specifically.  The first all-professional sports team.  The first night game in professional baseball.  Practicing social distancing in the grandstand.

April 2018.  Not a living breathing Reds fan within 100 feet.

Cool, rainy days nights in April might have contributed to the vast expanse of emptiness.

I swam through more than a few ballgames in 2018 at the Great American Natatorium.

Rocking the rain gear and my complimentary Dayton Dragons ball cap.

Miami U. baseball alumnus Mr B in deep contemplation, considering how much harder he could hit the ball in his ninth decade of life than does Joey Votto in the prime of his own.

Above photos from June; Pregame no rain, 4th inning drizzle.  My bright blue Nike rain gear makes me easy to spot on the telecast.  Look for me in 2021.  Maybe 2022.

Two nights later, the Louisville Slugger t-shirt remained dry.  At that I remained astonished.

July, more rain.

So much rain at the ball yard might make a lesser fan crabby.  #captaincurts  #majorleaguecrab #lookattheshirt

Big Sky Reds Country.  The State of Montana has nothing on my depopulated section.

Lou and Maria joined me for a game in August.  At last!  Brilliant sunlight!  O!  Joyous day!

Cruising Under Your Radar 2019-2020

Anna's new wheels!   Spring, 2019.

February, 2019.  Foreshadowing the pandemic hoarding 13 months later.

Easter 2019 at the Napa Valley of SW Ohio.  #channelingbobbaffert

Snazzy new shoes for My Dear Elderly Mother.  I talked her into buying them.

Rocking the shorts in church.  #nbd

The Pope asked me to clean it up.

Land of the Lost.  Discovered hiding in an Ox City front yard.  Summer, 2019.

North By Northwest in Southwest Ohio.

Dude working the checkout at the local grocery flipped his lid when he saw my Rush tuque.  New Year's Eve.  Neil Peart died seven days later.

Picking up Mr B for spaghetti and meatballs, rocking out "Working Man" by Rush seven days after Neil Peart passed.

Driving Ms Daisy, pandemic or not.

Billy Treacy was one of the primary creative geniuses behind the now-defunct Doctor Who YouTube fan channel Five Who Fans (honourable mention to Richard B Brookes).  I went in search of his Chirpy to see if he'd offered any recent observations on the latest series of DW.  Alas, no.  I did find, however, this true gem of philosophical thought.  A maxim for the 21st century.
